  • CHANGES TO OUR SERVICE

From 1st April Sefton Sexual Health Service will be delivered by Brook. There will be some temporary adjustments to the service for the period leading up to the change in provider and more up to date information will be available here in the coming weeks.

From 24th March asymptomatic (no symptoms) screening will not be carried out in clinics whilst we transfer to Brook.  Home testing kits will not be available from 14th March until 1st April.

Emergency Contraception

If you’ve had unprotected sex or think your contraception might have failed, you can use emergency contraception.

The most effective method of emergency contraception is to have an IUD fitted. This can then be left fitted if you still need long term contraceptive cover. Emergency contraception pills can be very effective, but are not as effective as the IUD, or using other methods of contraception regularly and correctly.
