Welcome to Sefton Sexual Health Service

We are a free NHS service providing STI testing and treatment, contraception, HIV services,  community sexual health improvement & training,  psychosexual therapy and clinical outreach in Sefton.

Our service is confidential, non-judgemental and is for anyone.

Our service vision is to provide a high quality, fully integrated and holistic sexual health service that is accessible and meets the needs of our local community.

The  team is made up of both clinical staff (consultants, doctors, nurses, psychosexual therapist, health care assistants) and administration staff (receptionists, health improvement team).

As we do not have crèche facilities on site, we ask politely if you can arrange childcare prior to attending, or if you have to bring children, please bring someone who can watch them whilst you have your treatment or procedure.

Please be aware that we do not tolerate abusive, threatening or violent behaviour towards any of our staff.  If you, or anyone who attends our clinics with you, behaves in this manner we have the right to refuse treatment and you will be asked to leave.  This is to ensure the safety of both our staff and patients at all times.

We do not provide pre-marriage screening, travel or emigration certificates for STI screening/HIV or infertility screening test for patients in the private sector.

We do not offer Hepatitis B vaccinations for occupational health reasons.

Confidentiality

Your confidentiality is important to us, the information that you share will remain confidential with our service. Very rarely we may not be able to maintain confidentiality if we become concerned about your safety or safety of another person.

If we need to share information with another service, we will make every attempt to discuss this with you. If you need to be referred onto another service or if your GP needs to know about your care, we will ask your permission first.

Only staff that work in Sefton Sexual Health can access your records with us.
