If you have been exposed to HIV within the past 72 hours, you can ask for PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis). PEP is a course of medication that can significantly reduce your risk of HIV infection. Click here to find out more about PEP.

You have a right to be safe at work. On Merseyside there is an organisation called Red Umbrella who work to protect street sex workers (women, girls, men, trans people) from abuse and exploitation, including sexual violence and trafficking.

If you have been sexually assaulted you can find out about local support here and information on how to report.
You can also anonymously report dangerous individuals to National Ugly Mugs, who will then send out an alert to other sex workers in the local area.

You can now access self-testing for a range of sexually transmitted infections including chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, syphilis with a testing kit that can be done in the comfort of your own home and without having to visit a clinic.
This service is available to people aged 16 and over, who do not have any symptoms (asymptomatic) If you do have symptoms home testing is not right for you. Please contact the service on 01695 656550 to book a telephone triage and you will be given further advice.

Completing the tests are easy and full instructions are provided. It is important to complete the test and return it as soon as possible after you have taken your samples.
